Jonitunes and Cosmosity Music

1950’s

  • Grew up obsessed with Rock and Roll, American Bandstand and Rodgers and Hammerstein Musicals
  • Especially fond of the Everly Brothers, Elvis and Fats Domino
  • Played cornet and French horn in Jr. High band

1960’s

  • Influenced by the British invasion, country, rock and folk artists
  • Favorites included Beatles, Youngbloods, Airplane, Dead, Peter, Paul and Mary, Gordon Lightfoot, and Eric Andersen
  • First Guitar in 1964, self taught
  • Performed in local coffee houses in Northeastern Ohio

1967

  • Played bass for a psychedelic rock band in Philadelphia called ‘Warmth’ while a freshman at the Philadelphia College of Art (PCA)
  • Opened at The Trauma for Gary Pucket and the Union Gap

1968-70

  • Co-founder of Johnny’s Dance Band (JDB) as singer/songwriter/guitarist/bassist while at PCA
  • Recorded at Sigma Sound
  • Performed at local clubs, college dances, frat parties

1973

  • Re-formed JDB
  • Toured regionally from Washington to Boston

1977

  • Signed to RCA/Windsong
  • Recorded in NYC at Jimi Hendrix Electric Lady Studio
  • Managed by Management 3 in New York, NY

1978

  • Primary songwriter on the first JDB album but left band soon after

1979

  • Founded Boomer, Philadelphia
  • Produced and recorded demo “Time Delay” at Studio 4 in Wayne, PA, with Phil and Joe Nicolo
  • Co-produced by Bobby Lenti, lead guitarist for JDB
  • Headlined the Main Point and local clubs for 6 months
  • Demo’s rejected by a dozen record companies
  • Semi-retired from music until JDB reunion circa 1999-2000

2002-2003

  • Wrote and recorded the theme song for the Reading Phillies Baseball Club, “Baseballtown, the song” followed by a surge of songwriting, recording and productions
  • Created, produced and released a demo of six original country tunes entitled Gettin’ My Feet Wet
  • Established Jackson Music, West Reading, PA Cosmosity Music Publishing Co., ASCAP, and website: www.jonitunes.com

2004-2006

  • Recorded with Karl Frick at his Lakestone Studios in Barto, PA
  • Created the Jonitunes Songbook.

2007

  • Produced and released a CD entitled “Songs from Baseballtown” in association with the Reading Fightin Phils
  • CD currently on sale at First Energy Stadium, Reading PA. Proceeds benefit Baseballtown Charities

2008

  • Produced and released a CD entitled “Round trip”, featuring Boomer’s 1979 demos “Time Delay” and new productions co-produced and performed with Karl Frick at Lakestone Studios
  • Solo performances in Reading, PA and with Johnny and the Boys

2010

  • Recorded new theme song for the Lehigh Valley Iron Pigs Baseball Club, AAA Philadelphia Phillies farm club entitled Swing It Like an Iron Pig

2012 – Present

  • Began recording with John LeVasseur at his studio: Sound Design Music Studio near Lancaster PA.
  • Recorded new theme song for the Reading Phillies Baseball Club entitled “That Dang Fightins Tune,” played at every home game
  • Released Dues CD co-produced and mastered by John LeVasseur
  • Currently recording new Jonitunes
